KILMARNOCK BY-ELECTION RETENTION OF THE SEAT (Received November 3, G. 25 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 3 A by-election for the Kilmarnock seat in the House of Commons, rendered vacant by the elevation of Mr. Craigie Aitchison to the Scottish Bench, resulted as follows: Kenneth Lihdsay (National Labour) 12,577 James Barr (Labour) . . . 9,924 John Pollock (Independent Labour) 7,575 Sir A. Macewen (Scottish Nationalist) . . . . . . . . 6,098 National Labour majority 2,653 The poll for the Kilmarnock seat at the last general election on October 27, 1931, resulted as follows:—Craigie Aitchison (National Labour), 21,803; J. Pollock (Labour), 14,767; National Labour majority, 7036.
