OCEAN MYSTERY

BODY WASHED ASHORE BARQUE NOT REPORTED LONDON. Nov. 2 The barque Parma, which sailed for Australia on October 4, has not been spoken since. A seaman's body, wearing one of the vessel's lifebelts, was washed ashore at Deauville, France, on October 28. Apparently ho had been in the water more than three weeks. The Parma carried two passengers, Commander Bircham, seeking sailing data for the Admiralty, and his wife. The agents have no fear for the safety of the Parma. They think the seaman may have been washed overboard and not rescued owing to heavy seas.
