CONFLICTING OPINIONS Two letters dealing with foot and mouth disease were received at yesterday's mooting of tho council of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association, but they were not read or discussed, owing to tho contentiousness of the subject matter. One of tho communications gave a warning against any lifting of the embargo on tho importation of British livestock and stated that there was already. the foundation of good stock in the Dominion. The othor suggested that one shipment of livestock from Britain should be permitted to enter New Zealand each year as a trial.
