CROQUET CLUB OPENING

The official opening of the Taupin Croquet Club was a very well-attended function, there being representatives from the Hamilton, Hamilton East, Frankton. Huntlv, Te Kauwhata, "Kiwi" (Waerenga) and Ngaruawahia Croquet Clubs. Light 6howers fell, but not sufficient to mar the pleasure of the afternoon. The president of the Taupiri Bowling Club. Mr. J. Seatb, declared the lawn open, and Mrs. F. R. Catley, president of the Croquet Club, played the first ball. The progressive croquet was won bv Mrs. Berne, of Hamilton East, and Mrs. Tortman, of Hamilton, the target croquet. The clock croquet competitions were both won by Mrs. Hennessey, of Ngaruawahia.
