PLUNKET SOCIETY FETE
A novel afternoon's entertainment is promised at the Ellerslie racecourse on Saturday, November 18, when a floral fete and gymkhana will bo held in aid of the funds of the Plunket Society. The varied programme which has beeai arranged includes Hunt Club jumping, a cart-horse derby, an aviation display, boxing, wrestling, a gymnastic display and dancing on the lawn. In addition, the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club has arranged a full programme of athletic and cycling events. A parade of decorated vehicles will be a feature of the afternoon. Numerous classes catering for vehicles of every description will ensure that the procession will not lack variety. Competitions have been arranged for decorated > cars,, decorated ponies, humorous decorations, decorated children's conveyances and exhibits by Boy Scouts, Girl Guides and Brownies. In addition, there will be classes for decorated posters and parasols. A full programme of popular musical numbers will be rendered by the Auckland Waterside Workers' Band.
