List, Rotary governor of the New Zealand district, spoke c< his experiences in America. and h< assured his bearers that it was a great privilege for him to represent- the New Zealand district at the Rotai-j Convention. New Zealand, he sail, was held in high esteem in America probably because of the See iatpres* sions that had been made by his predecessors, such as. the late Mr. Charlei Rhodes, Mr. Harry Guthrie, and others. Mr. Rhodes, for instance, was regarded as one of the finest men eve? attached to Rotary. Mr. List saw J« learned in America that Mr. Raa&ts had been offered the position of international president of Rotary, bra hi could not- see his way to accept il because of his health.
The American soldiers, too, added Mr. List, had a very keen appreciation of the New Zealand soldiers whoi* they met in France and other places. It was generally agreed among them that there were so men who appealed to them so much as the New Zealand soldiers had done.
