MISSING BRIDEGROOM
BODY ON RAILWAY LINE DISCOVERY AT MANGERE The body of Mr. Ernest Royal Jones. aged 44, who was reported missing from his residence at 0 St. Andrew's Road, Epsom, on Wednesday, was found, on the railway line near Mangcre Crossing, shortly after five o'clock yesterday morning, by a surfaceman, Mr. B. P. Marshall. It is thought that deceased was run over by one of the early morning goods trains proceeding southward The body was lying on the down track a short distance from tho traffic crossing. Deceased was reported to the police as missing on Wednesday evening, when he was to have been married, but failed to make an appearance. He was last seen by acquaintances after booking a room at an Auckland hotel on Wednesday afternoon. He was employed as a butcher with a city firm. An inquest was opened before the coroner, Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., at Otahuhu yesterday afternoon. After evidence of identification had been given the inquest was adjourned sine die.
