AWARDS IN PAST YEAR [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Thursday Applications for 425 bursaries were received during the past year, as compared with 321 in the previous year, stated the report of the executive committee, presented at the annual meeting of the Trentham Scholarship War Fund to-day. <

Of the applications made 369 had been granted, the awards amounting to £5230. Since then, sometimes at the request of the applicant, it had been found necessary to cancel some awards, these totalling £265. \ Since the inception of the fund in 1921 the sum of £51,688 had to bursars, representing 2450 bursaries and affecting 1013 children.

Dr. E. Marsden, Mr. W. Appleton, Major L. C. ]?"orgie and Mr. G. A. Troup were re-elected to the executive committee.
