ALLEGED THEFT OF ETOOKS REMAND AT DUNEDIN [BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION] DUNEDIN, Thursday A university student was charged in the Police Court to-day with the theft of books valued at £5 from the Athenaeum, also with wilfully damaging an Athenaeum bookThe police said there had been a number of these offences, and produced a bundle of clippings of illustrations from magazines to indicate the extent of damage to periodicals. Twenty-four books had been stolen.

Accused, whose name was suppressed, was remanded until Wednesday on bail.
