WOODEN BUTTONS
Many home-made frocks have buttons covered with the same material as that with which the frock, is made. These add a professional touch to the frock, but it is annoying to find that after they have been washed, the wooden buttons have stained the material which covers them. This is due to a certain amount of turpentine contained in the wood. The only way to avoid this is to boil the buttons gently in ail old saucepan containing sodawater. This process will draw all the turpentine out of the wood.
