TAURANGA NEWS

Mr. G. H. A. Wills and the Tauranga Players produced in the Town ] Hall this week A. A. Milne's comedy j " The Dover Road " with great suci cess. Mr. Wills played the part of Mr. Latimer, Mrs. D. Knowles that of Anne, Mrs. T. F. Connor that of Eustasia, and Miss Lindsay Tudhope and Miss Eleanor Broad played tho parts of Mrs. Latimer's maids. Tho proceeds are to be devoted to tho Mayor's relief fund and the Returned Soldiers' Association. Mrs. M. P. Munro recently gave a jolly little party at her homo in Cameron Road. The rooms wero gay with masses of camellias, and music and games passed a very merry evening. Among those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Alan Bradmore, Mr. and Mrs. E. Knowles. Mr. and Mrs. K. Gilford, Mrs. A. Matheson, Miss A. Bradmore and Messrs. J. Auld, Bradmore and McGuinness. A very pleasant little function was the surprise party organised by members of the Holy Trinity Senior Guild for their president, Mrs. W- S. Harris, on tho occasion of her seventy-fifth birthday. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs. T. H. Hall, during which Mrs. H. H. Cleinson, tho oldest member, presented Mrs. Harris with an iced birthday cake. Mrs. T. H. Hall is spending a short holiday at Paeroa and Thames. Miss J. Alley, of Katikati, has returned from a'trip to Japan and the East. Mrs. G. C. Maltley is visiting relations in Auckland. Miss Lynneberg and Miss Brown, of Wellington, are visiting Tauranga and are staying at St. Annes. Mrs. Denis Ivory is spending a holiday in Hotorua. Miss J. Grice leaves this week on a holiday visit to Te Awamutu and Taumarunui.

Mrs. H. Bradmore, who has been visiting Auckland, has left on an extended trip to Wellington and the South Island. Miss E. Scantlebury, of Wellington, is spending a holiday in Tauranga. Mrs. F. A. Wilson has left on a visit to Wellington. '
