AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP The Auckland provincial amateur billiards championship for the Billiards Limited Shield was continued at Messrs. Billiards, Limited, showrooms last evening, v-hen 1). Jones played 11. A. Randrup. Jones had the better of the opening stages of the game and recorded breaks of 22 and 28. He passed tho firßt 100 with n good J'.ad. Randrup was unablo to cope with the «jifTscult positions left by his opponent. Jones increased his lead soon after in making an attractive all-round break of 40. Jtandrup then added runs of 20 and 25. Jones kept forcing tho game and retaliated w >tli a run of 43 before failing. He maintained his advantage and ran out a winner ty 194 poinls. The final i,corc# were:—D. Jones, !W (breaks of 22, 28. 46, 43, 22); ■II. A. liiindrup, 30G (breaks of 20. 25. 28). M. D. White will play H. A. Maescy this evening. JUNIOR TOURNEY Tho junior billiards championship was "commenced at the Vulcan Lane billiards tar lours last evening, B. Oldfield beating I'. McGeachen by 350 points to 2JO.
