MR. H. J. H. BLOW * SERVICE WITH PUBLIC WORKS [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION*] WELLINGTON, Wednesday The death has occurred of Mr. Horatio John Hooper Blow, a former UnderSecretary for Public Works, aged 78 years. , • [Mr. Blow was born in London in 1855. He was educated at Brighton and arrived in New Zealand in 1872. The following year he entered tho Government service as a clerk in the Public Works Department and retired in 1916 after 4:3 years' service. He was appointed assistant Under-Secretary for Public Works in 1885 and in 1891 was appointed Under-Secretary. He was awarded tho Imperial Service Order.] MRS. J. SEDGMAN [from our own correspondent! HAMILTON, Wednesday The death has occurred of Mrs. Mary Ann Sedgman, widow of the late Mr. John Sedgman, at the age of 83 years. Mrs. Sedgman was born in Parranl porth, Cornwall,, and was engaged in Cornwall as a school teacher. She came to New Zealand 55 yeairs ago in tho ship Mary Bell, and lived at Huntly South for many years. She was closely associated with the Methodist Church.
