BOBBY CALF TREATMENT A favourable report concerning the recent campaign of the Auckland branch of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for better treatment of bobby calves was received at the last meeting of the society. The campaign, which was undertaken at the. suggestion of the Royal Society in London, was receiving support in both the North and South Islands, the report said. Nearly 2000 posters had beon distributed, and a splendid response had been made by traffic and livestock departments in Auckland and Wellington, the police, and authorities controlling freezing works, abattoirs and saleyards. Societies in Australia, Denmark and Holland also were giving publicity to the campaign led by the Auckland branch of the society.
