ESTIMATE OF 1,537,363 [BY TELEGBAPH —PBESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Thursday The estimated population of New Zealand (including Mapris) on June 30, 1933, was 1,537,363. Males were estimated at 783,738 and females at 753,625. The estimated Maori population was 71,527. The estimated total population of New Zealand, dependencies and mandated territory was 1,600,809.

During the quarter ended June 30, the population increased by 399, compared with an increase of 288 for the corresponding quarter of 1932.
