Scullin • in Brisbane re-, cently when a bouquet of roses was. > handed to her at the City Hall by tha Lady Mayoress, Mrs. J. W. Greene. InV expressing his wife's appreciation of the gift, Mr. Scullin, Leader of the Federal Labour Party, said she had > always had a keen appreciation of the beautiful. On only one occasion lind she shown lack of taste in this. direction. (Laugher.) . • 5?" The Leader of the Opposition, Mr. A. E. Moore, who added his welcome to Mr. and Mrs. Scullin, said it was an excellent idea for a public man io be accompanied by his wife when travelling, even if it was only to let people see that he had one. When Sirs. Moore had sometimes ied him, his friends had told him that™} it was because she could not trust hira out of her sight, but he denied that. (Laughter.) He believed that he was old enough to be trusted anywhere and with anybody. (Laughter.)
