CENTRAL BANK URGED
The centralisation of tho banking system of Now Zealand was urged -iy jlr. J. Hislop in an address to members of tho Junior Chamber of Commerce last evening. "It is a subject which will take a prominent place m the politics of the Dominion in tlio near future," Mr. Hislop said. Modern conditions tended to move banking bcvoiul mero bargaining for credit facilities between customer and banker to one of international service \ central bank was essential to the social well being of tho country, and its influence would be felt in every pay roll and every dividend warrant, Mr. Hislop added. A talk "In Defence of Capitalism was given by a member, Mr. C. H. Battley. Ho was supported by Messrs. F. Sweeney and J. E. Beachen, and opposed by Mr. H. Innes.
