Monday The condition of Mr. Leonard Arthur Lee, railway clerk, who was shot by a masked man at the Addington station last evening, was reported to be satisfactory to-day. When Mr. Lee opened the slide of a ticket ofiicc window at tho station last evening an unknown masked man presented a rifle and shot him in the chin. The bullet lodged in the neck without touching an artery. The assailant immediately ran away in the darkness. No attempt at robbery was made and no motive for the attack is known. Mr. Lee is in the Christchurch Hospital. ',l'he assailant has not yet been traced
