BLASTING ACCIDENT

RELIEF WORKER INJURED JOURNEY FROM ALBANY CONDITION REPORTED SERIOUS Severe burns were received by a relief worker, Mr. Peder Jacobson, aged 28, as a result of a blasting accident on a farm at Albany yesterday morning. Mr. Jacobson, who is & married man, living at 50 Kitchener Street, Sandringham, was burned extensively about the face and on the arms and hands. He received whatever attention could bo given at the time, and was then placed in a private motor-car to be conveyed to the city. The car ran out of petrol at the Birkenhead vehicular wharf, but fortunately a St. John ambulance happened to be there. The ambulance brought Mr. Jacobson to the city, and lie was admitted to the hospital at 11 a.m. His condition was described late last evening as fairly serious.
