WOMEN'S DIVISION

WAITEMATA COUNCIL A meeting of the executive of the Waitemata provincial council of the Women's Division of the New Zealand Farmers' Union was held at Papakura on Thursday. The president, Mrs. Noel Adams, presided. The following delegates were elected to represent the council at the Dominion conference, to bo held in Wellington in July:—Mesdames Noel Adams, D. Bryan and J. T. F. Mitchell. Remits *for conference and suggestions from the rules committee for the new rule book were discussed. Votes were taken on the more important proposals, but it was agreed that delegates should go to conference with freo hands to act as might seem best to them in the light of any further knowledge tliev might gain. Mrs. Edward Allen presented the financial statement of the division's exchange shop at Newmarket, which showed a turnover of £129 18s for tlio 10 weeks ending Juno 10. Plans were outlined for the improvement of exchange shop facilities and Mrs. Allen also answered inquiries as to the type of goods which were found to bo readily saleable. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mrs. Allen and her band of helpeis for their untiring efforts on behalf of the country branches. Mrs. L. L. Allen, honorary organiser, reported that new branches had been formed at Mangatangi, Takanini, Ardmorc and Alfriston, and urged established branches to assist iu the formation of now branches in their surrounding districts. A report on plans for the display of work at the Auckland Winter Show was given by Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell. Interesting demonstrations, illustrative of the work of the division, have been arranged, and it is expected that the display court will bo a centre of much interest to both town and country visitors.
