CARROTS FOR BEAUTY
How many -women realise they could beautify their skin simply by including the humble carrot more often in their daily diet. The average woman is apt to thing of a carrot as a necessary ingredient to a stew or to eat with a boiled joint, and there it ends. It should not be so. for carrots are rich in blood-purifying minerals, which are very beneficial to a dull or muddy skin. Raw carrots are also good for the teeth; they are cleansing and stimulate the gums. Boiled carrots, served hot with cream sauce, are delicious. Make the sauce by rubbing flour into melted butter, and add milk, pepper and salt. If one is feeling nervy owing to stress of work in office or business, Strew over with parsley, as this is excellent for the nerves. Another way is to boil the carrots, chop them up when cold and mix them with salad. Or you can <add them to mashed notatoes and eat with cold meat. Mayonnaise will vary the flavour.
