GIRL'S THIGH FRACTURED [FROM OCR OWN correspondent] TE AWAMUTU, Saturday A girl, aged 13, Winnie Maddern, sister of Mr. E. Maddern, a Korakonui farmer, was riding a horse from the homestead to the road on Thursday evening to collect the mail, wlierr tho horse slipped on a log and fell, pinning the girl down. The girl's calls brought assistance and she was removed to a private hospital in Te Awamutu, where it was found she had received a fracture of the left thigh. She is stated to bo progressing satisfactorily.
