COMMENT BY MAGISTRATE "It was a mean theft, but on account of your youth I will adjourn tho caso for six months," said Mr. W. It. Mclvcan, S.M., in tho Police Court on Saturday, when a woman, aged 20, a factory hand, appeared on a cliargo of stealing a pair of shoes valued at £1 ss. Tho magistrate said ho had had a favourable report on accused from Major Annio Gordon, of tho Salvation Army. Accused's employer spoko well of her, so sho would bo given a chance. Accused's name was suppressed.
