REUNION AT TE AWAMUTIJ \ PARTY POLITICS OPPOSED [fp.gh our own correspondent] TE AWAMT7TU, Monday The Te Awamutu Returned Soldiers' 'Association annual reunion, which was held on Saturday evening, proved very Buccessful, over 100 ex-soldiers attending. Among the special guests was Mr. E. H. Northcroft, of Auckland. The president, Mr. N. McAlister, extended a hearty welcome to him and the gathering accorded Mr: Northcroft an ovation when he acknowledged the toast , of "The R.S.A." During the evening the following Iresolution was carried unanimously: "That members view with disappi'oval the tendency in somo quarters to enter into party politics." An enjoyable concert programme was given and the customary toasts hon- / oured. HUNTLY ASSOCIATION „ EXPENDITURE ON RELIEF [FUOiI OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] HUNTLY, Monday The report presented at the annual general meeting of the Huntly Returned Soldiers' Association disclosed that since September last the association had paid out in relief approximately £IBO. The balance-sheet showed *> credit balance of £l6, and, in view of the times, this was considered most satisfactory. _ / Officers for the ensuing year were sleeted as follows: —President, A. E. Pascoe; vice-president, Mr. I. Hutchinson; hon. secretary, Mr. J. Pprteouii (re-elected for the 16th successive ?ear); hon.; treasurer, Mr. W. Bullough; executive, Messrs. K. fe. Sii, veil, J. Wallace, N. Greenwell, T. Holland, D. Fletcher, A. Hall and W. H. •Harris; hon. auditor, Mr. J. Higham.
