Delegates were present from Wellington, Canterbury, Otago and Southland. As far back as the Sanders C'up conference of 1929 the question of forming a Dominion body to control yachting was mooted and in that year the Auckland Yacht and Motor-Boat Association was directed to bring down a recommendation and draft a constitution. The matter was discussed at a conference the following year when it was agreed to form a body to control intorprovlneial racing. Delegates wore to have equal voting power, but for a variety of reasons the project was allowed to drop. It was revived at the Sanders Cup conference early (.his year at Lyttelton when Messrs. O. A. Mollor, C. R. Curtis and W. O. Martin were appointed a committee to draft a constitution for the proposed council. This was circulated to the various associations interested and after various alterations was adopted at a mooting yesterday. Mr. .Martin was voted to the chair.

The following officers wen- elected: Chairman, Mr. (i. R. Curtis (Canterbury); secretary, Mr. J. T. Hobhs (Canterl)ury). Oil the motion of Mollcr the council decided to promote two races to be known as "New Zealand 1 1 it. championship (X class)" and "New Zealand J2ft. Gin. championship ('/ class)," as per plans and specifications adopted by the council. ft was resolved that the X class 14ft. championship of New Zealand should he held at Lyttclton in JO.'il, and that the 12ft. Gin. championship (Z class) should be held at Dunedin. The council viewed favourably the suggestion for an 18ft. v-bottom type one-design New Zealand championship.
