AIR PAGEANT
DISPLAY AT TE AROHA AUCKLAND PILOTS ASSIST SOME THRILLING EXHIBITIONS [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] TE AROIIA Wednesday Over 1000 people gathered at Waihou to-day to witness the third pageant held under the auspices of the' Te Aroha Aero Club, with the co-opera-tion of Auckland pilots. The weather Was dull, but remained fine throughout the day, and the crowd was treated to some thrilling acrobatics by Flight-Lieutenant D. M. Allan. One of the most spectacular events was the mock battle in machines piloted by Mr. It. A. Kirkup and Flight-Lieu-tenant Allan. Both pilots received an ovation from crowd. Competitions held during the day resulted as follows: — Lauding Competition.—L. Cadman, 1; V. Salek, 2. Bombing Competition.—C. Lewis, 1; J. Lambert, 2. Aerobatics. —It. Kirkup, 1; C. Lewis and A. B. Itanbj', 2. Tho five Moths of the Auckland Aero Club were present at the pageant, having left Auckland this morning. FlightLieutenant Allan flew Mr. H. T. D. Lambert in tho orange Moth, FlightLicutonant Lett took Mr. Miller, Messrs. C. Lowis and It. A. Kirkup flew together and Messrs. L. Cadman and V. Salek were solo. With the exception of Flight-Lieutenant Lett and his passenger, tho party remained overnight at To Aroha, being the guests of tho Te Aroha Aero Club at a dance.
