EXTRA MEETING AT WAIKATO NO DECISION ABOUT DATE Although the "Wnikato Trotting Club accepted the- Tarannki Club's permit, which lapsed for the season when the April meeting was abandoned, no definite decision has yet been arrived at regarding n date for the nucting. An effort was made to hold the fixture on June 3. but the Hawke's Bay Club lodged an objection, which was upheld. Then June 17 was suggested, but it was found to be too close to the Auckland winter fixture, which is scheduled for June 21 and 24. The Waikato Club may now race on June 10 or July 1. « CONSISTENT BRENTLIGHT GOING BACK TO CANTERBURY The pacer Brentlight, who has done most of his racing this -season in the Auckland district, returns tp Chrislchurch on Friday, and will bo given a well-earned spell. Since coming North under R. D. Kennerley's charge, Brentlight has laced well and lias proved very consistent. He won a double at the Waikato Summer Meeting, and has six times run second in two miles races in tho province, taking a placed record of 4.25 at Epsom. Prior to coaling to Auckland lie had a largo number of placed performances in the South Island, and had a two miles record of 4.29. R. D. Kenncrley stated yesterday that Brentlight had been in work for two years without a spoil and would be given a good holiday, RED HOPE'S PROGRAMME RETURN TO WHANGAREI L. McMahon left Inst night for Whangaroi with the promising paced Red Hope, who will be given a preparation for the Auckland Winter Meeting. Although lie won a race ar Cambridge the son of Great Hope is carrying, a lgt of condition and being n gross horpe should make n good deal of progress in the interval. He is a wellmannered, sensible pneer, who should develop into a very useful sort with more racing experience. His aire, Great Hope, who was by Great Audubon, son oJ! Peter tho Great, from the Harold Dillon mnro 'Sadie Dillon, dam of Little Guy, was a- highclass performer and won, among numerous niees, the Great Northern and New Zealand Derbies.
