YESTERDAY'S SALES RETURN on investments Following is a list of yesterday's transactions on New Zealand Stock Exchanges. In the second column is given the return, based on the last annual dividend, from ' investment at the quoted price. In calculating the return on shares in companies which pay their dividends outside New Zealand the exchange rates have not been taken into consideration. The return on 4 per cent Government loans includes redemption. In the case of 3$ per cent loans the return is for interest alone, and covers only the period for which the loans are tax-free. Oil the -Sydney Stock Exchange today the market generally was very firm without notable variation from yesterday's prico levels. However, there was rather insistent demand for preference shalfcs. The announcement of a new Commonwealth loan <at 3} per cent caused an immediate reaction on bond values, chiefly shorter currencies, the tendency of the market being to adjust itself to yields at that level.
