AUCKLAND UNION MEETING PASSES FOR UNEMPLOYED FIRST ROUND SENIOR GAMES A decisiop to issue up to 500 freo passes each Saturday to unemployed on similar lines to last season was made by the management committee of the Auckland ltugby Union at its meeting last evening. Permission to play a match at Waiuku on Saturday was granted the Grafton Club. An application from the Training College Club to play Whangarei Old Boys' Club at Eden Park on Saturday was also granted. Reference was made by the chairman, Mr. 11. Frost, to the recent marriage of A. Finlayson, an Auckland representative forward, and it was decided to extend the union's felicitations to him and his wife. The draw for the first round of the senior grade A competition, to be played on Saturday week, was made as follows: College Rifles v. Otahuhu, Ponsonby _v. Grafton, Technical Old Boys v. Marist, Grammar Old Boys v. Manukau, Training College v. University. IiEFEHEES' ASSOCIATION The Auckland ltugby Referees' Association will resume its weekly meetings next Monday evening. It is intended that the learners' classes conducted by Mr. M. Kronfeld will continue as usual. The junior management board will resume its duties next week. Owing to Anzac Day falling on Tuesday, the usual weekly meeting will be held next Monday, after which meetings will take place on the usuaJ night.
