CAMPING GEAR STOLEN
YOUNG MAN SENTENCED Three charges of stealing camping equipment and groceries of a total value of £9 8s 6d, from baches at Muriwai, were admitted by Albert Oliver Robinson, aged 19, farm labourer, in the Police Court on Thursday, before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M. Detective-Sergeant McHugh said accused's parents were separated and he had been living in a bach at Muriwai for the past 18 months. During that peiiod he had been breaking into other baches and stealing. He had been admitted to probation for two j'ears in October, 1931, for committing similar offences. For the past 18 months ho had done little or no work, but had obtained employment on a farm just prior to his arrest. The probation officer , Mr. W. J. Campbell, said he did not know what tc do with accused. Accused was sentenced to 12 months' reformative detention.
