INTERESTS OF CARRIERS
NEW HAMILTON ASSOCIATION [from our own correspondent] • * HAMILTON, Wednesday "With the object of protecting the business interests of its members, an organisation kpown as the Hamilton Carriers' Association was formed in Hamilton last evening. Among the purposes for which the association was formed are the following:—To take such action as it is deemed advisable to prevent unreasonable Acts of Parliament or amendments thereto, and regulations and by-laws of municipal and local bodies; to take whatever action is necessary to prevent unfair competition from ciirtage contractors and transport services with headquarters outside Hamilton; to institute a costing system which will give members a basis for calculating cartage charges, and to promote the inauguration of similar . associations throughout New Zealand. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. F. IT. Clapham; vicepresident, Mr. J.- Jebson; committee, Messrs. A. Burn, F. Ladd. D. Mathieson, J. Taylor and E. Woodward; secretary and treasurer, Mr.' R. • Challiner.
