"OLD FOLKS" REUNION
ST JAMES' CHURCH Nearly 300 of the older residents of Auckland were present at the annual "Old Folks' " reunion held in St. James' Presbyterian Church hall on Saturday afternoon. The deputy-mayor, Mr. A. J. Eritrican, whose association with St. James' Church covers many years, extended a welcome to those attending the reunion, and the Rev. E. 11. Harries, minister of the church, gave a short ad- ! dross. The two oldest ladies present, Mrs. , Smith, aged 92, of Paice Avenue, Mount Eden, and Mrs. M. Deerness, aged 88, of Summer Street, Ponsonby, were each presented with a bouquet, and the oldest gentleman, Mr. James Stewart, aged 84, was given a buttonhole. Several items were given by the choir, while songs were sung by Mrs. McDonald and Miss Mary Gow, and elocutionary items were given by Miss M. Carte-Lloyd.
