DIOCESAN OLD GIRLS The Waikato and Sonning Old Girls' Association held a very enjoyable party at Mrs, E. J. Wears' home for Miss Bessie Yickery and Miss Nora Yalder, two old girls of the school, who are to be married at Easter. An amusing one-act play, entitled "The Constant Lovers," was read by Miss Phyllis Bullock and Miss Noreen Sergei. Games and competitions were played. On behalf of the members of the association, Miss Dell Yule presented Miss Vickery with a small brass table and Miss Valder with a brass jug. Miss Vickery wore a frock of blue floral lawn and black velvet coat and Miss Valder was wearing apricot satin beaute with small coat to match. Among those present were:—Mrs. G. Bindon, Mrs. E. Guramer, Mrs. F. Vickery. Mrs. W. Adams, Mrs. S. Ellis, Mrs. H. Hallett, Miss K. Mears, Miss D. Yule, Miss J. Piatt, Miss N. Sergei, Miss G. Chitty, Miss I. McKinnon, Miss E. House, Miss P. Sorby, Miss P. Bullock, Miss Y. Couper, Miss M. Gillies, Miss M. Taylor, Miss M. Hall, Miss S. Vautier, Miss I. Vercoe, Miss M. Beale. Miss Dorothy Gumming, who is leaving Hamilton to go to her home in Auckland and whose marriage is to take place shortly, was the guest of honour at a very enjoyable "blue-gift afternoon" given by Mrs. Gordon Smith at her home in Lake Crescent. A treasure hunt was held in the garden. Mrs. Gordon Smith was %vearing a frock of blue floral crepe de chine. Miss Cumming wore apple green crepe de chine and close fitting brown hat. Those present were:—Mrs. H. Douglas, Mrs. H. E. Harris, Mrs. F. C. Vickery, Mrs. Hugh Burrell, Mrs. H. N. Hallett, Mrs. T. A. Burtenshaw, Mrs. E. Gummer, Mrs. Phillips Turner, Dr. Mary Douglas, Miss Wilding, Miss R. Brewis, Miss McKay, Miss C. Boddington, Miss C. Bloxome, Miss H. McDiarmid, Miss Nina Brown, Miss J. Hyland, Miss J. Gordon, Miss B. Vickery, Miss P. Lightbourne, Miss M. Meeking, Miss L. McCardle, Miss M. Rae, Miss K. Thomson, Miss T. David-, son. Mrs. H. E. Harris has returned from a holiday at Opotiki. Mrs. A. E. Webb and Miss Barbara Webb left Auckland on the Monterey for a holiday in Australia. Miss Betty Goldie, of Auckland, is the guest of Miss Kath Mears. Mrs. Vere .Chitty has returned from a holiday spent at Raglan. Miss F. Clayton-Greene is spending a holiday at the Thames Coast. j = i
