NAPIER REMEMBERS

COMMANDER MORGAN'S WORK The name of Commander H. L. Morgan will not be readily forgotten by Napier residents, since he commanded the sloop Veronica at the time of the earthquake pf February 3, 1931, and he and his fellow-officers and men performed commendable work of rescue and organisation. Commander Morgan recently was married in England, and immediately the news reached Napier, the Mayor, Mr. J. Vigor Brown, cabled congratulations on behalf 6f the citizens, wishing the commander and his wife a happy married life. He concluded by again thanking Commander Morgan for the fine work he did for Napier. The Mayor has received the following reply:—"Please accept yourself and convey to the inhabitants of Napier our sincere thanks for the telegram. 1 am greatly touched by the kind sentiments expressed." ,
