PRESENTATION

Senior-Sergeant Q. IT. Lambert, who lias been in charge of the Ponsonby police station for the past three years, and who has been transferred on promotion to the Newton station, was farewelled at the Ponsonby station last evening. On behalf of the staff, Sergeant S. Hammond presented Senior-Sergeant Lambert with a pipe lighter. Senior-Sergeant Lambert succeeds Senior-Sergeant T. O'Grudy, who recently retired. His place at Ponsonby will bo taken by Detective-Sergeant R. J. [ssell, of the central station.
