CHILD LOST IN SIBERIA
PRIVATIONS OF LONG TREK DISCOVERY AFTER 12 YEARS [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] PALMERSTON NORTH, Friday The parents of the child who has beert discovered in Siberia after being lost for 12 years reside at Foxton. Finding it necessary to leave Russia, .they trekked 400 miles from Siberia to the Chinese border. There they decided to leave the infant, then only a few months, old, to the care of others, as .the vicissitudes and privations of tho perilous journey would probably have proved fatal to the child. Some tune ago, when all trace of the child had been lost, the parents communicated with the Minister of External Affairs. Tho matter was subsequently referred to the Red Cross Society, whose investigations resulted in the location of the child and the issuing of the necessary passport to enable it to-be brought to New Zealand.
