NO WATER AVAILABLE SOME OF CONTENTS SAVED [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHAKATANE, Thursday Fire totally destroyed a five-roomed house at Awakeri yesterday. The house was owned and occupied by Mr. Joseph Graham.

Mrs. Graham and family were away camping at the Whakatane Heads at the time. Mr. Graham was working in a field near by. Owing to there being no water available, he was unable to attempt to save th'c housq, but was able to remove a few effects. Tho house was insured in the State Fire Office for £4OO and the furniture and effects were iusured in tho same office for £125, ,
