TORRES STRAIT MYSTERY SEEN AND DISAPPEARS BRISBANE, Jan. 21 Reports from Thursday Island state that a mysterious vessel, like a Japanese fishing proa, of about 50 tons, was seen in Torres Strait. Attempts to intercept the stranger were foiled by rain squalls, in which the ship disappeared.
