"ABSENTEE" LANDS
METHOD OF DISPOSAL SUGGESTED SIMPLIFICATION [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] TAURANGA, Tuesday The question of the disposal of "absentee" lands was discussed at a meeting of the Tauranga Land Settlement League. It was decided to support representations made to the Minister of "Agriculture by the Tauranga County Council with a view to simplifying the .process for the disposal of these lands by public tender or some other method.
Reference was made to the delay in throwing open for settlement the Wainui and Waipapa Blocks, between Tauranga and Katikati. It was decided to communicate with the commissioner of Crown lands, Auckland, and the Minister of Lands on the subject.
