NORTHERN MINERS
MAKING NEW AGREEMENT OWNERS WANT LOWER WAGES [from our own correspondent] HUNTLY, Monday At the end of this month the agreement, made between the Northern Miners Union and the Northern Coalmine Owners will terminate and a new agreement will bo drawn up. A conference between the parties will bo held in Auckland on Thursday. In the new agreement the owners propose to ask for a 5 per cent reduction in tho case of wage workers and a 7£ per cent reduction in tho pay of piece workers.
The following delegates will ( represent the Northern Miners' Union at the conference: —Messrs. R. L. Roberts, G. Green, J. Clark, T. Stephensbn, V. Curran, W. Davison, secretary (Waikato) ; W. Wesley, C. Latham (Ilikurangi); A. MeLagari, secretary, United Miners' Union, Brunncrton.
