There was very little between Tavern Knight (Manson) and Reviver (Wynd) at the_ end of half a mile in 49 3-ss. Tavern Knight' appears to have thrown off the soreness that prevented him from - starting earlier.at the meeting, and L. M. Manson intends to start him in the Midsummer Handicap on Monday. • He . got a little above himself while resting, but his latest gallop should sharpen him up and he may perform .'creditably , on Monday, as his speed is undoubted. ' ' '* ■' On the plough Speedmint (Walters! and Royal Artist (Edwards) did a useful vorkj ing gallon over a mile end a-half in 2.46. | both going on .well at the finish. Speedmint received a cut on the les during the ranninc of tha Auckland C'up. but she does not seem ito be at all troubled by it. Both are acceptors for the A.R.C. Handicap and both are fit to run good races if started. Marmorate (Forsyth) beat Orcnda (Farrcll) by a length over five furlongs in 1..5. This pair, with the addition of Lord Willonyx, will form C, Morse's team for the Thames meeting.. Pillow Fight (Farrell) went a mile and a-half at.a steady pace, coming home the last five furlongs in 1.10 3-5.- He worked very sedately and appears to have taken no harm from his hard race in the King's Plate. K. Voitre will ride him in the Derby. Prince Colossus has left Takanini and it is understood that in future he will be trained at Ellerslie. " . '' ' Tea Trader, Prolyxo. Gay Marigold. Greek Gold.
