EIGHT INCHES IN 38 HOURS FLOODING IN QUEENSLAND BRISBANE. Dec. 29 Torrential rain has fallen in North Queensland. Over eight inches were recorded at Innisfail in 36 hours, and lowlying parts of the town are under water. Cairns had a fall of eight inches. The Mulgrave River at Gordonvalo is 15 inches over the railway line, but no serious flooding is expected unless there are further falls.
