ALFRISTON
The Homai Young People's Social Club held a very successful concert in the Alfriston Public Hall on Thursday evening. The first part of the programme comprised a comedy play entitled "Poached Eggs and Pearls." The cast included: —Miss Kath Grindrod (Lady Clara Treviot), Miss Edie Pickett (the Duchess of Homai), Miss Nancy Martin (Lady Mabel Corroby), Miss Marjorio Grindrod (Miss Deacon,), Miss Jean Smith (Lady Penzance), Mr. Bob Alexander (Bill Smith), Mr. Ted Walker (George Williams), Mr. Cliff J nil (Jimmic Aeland). Part two of the programme was devoted to items, the artists contributing as follows:—Songs, Miss Gwenda Weir, Mr. Robert Simmers; humour. Mr. Alan McElwain; pianoforte duct, Miss Moya Cooper-Smith and Mr. Alan Pow; violin solo, Mr. Neville Walker. Selections were given by the Homai Orchestra.
