MILK BELOW STANDARD
WAIHI VENDOR FINED [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] WAIHI, Tuesday For having sold milk that was not of (lie standard required by the Sale of Food and Drugs Act, William J. Radford, milk vendor, was lined £3 by Mr. F. W. Platts, S.M., in tho Waihi Magistrate's Court to-day. Mr. F. C. Y". ('lark stated that the health inspector, Mr. G. C. White, had admitted that there was no suggestion of adulteration. Counsel said the cause of the trouble was that a new boy on the round had failed to stir tho milk when serving eacTi customer, with the result that the fat content was not evenly distributed. The magistrate said that had it not been for defendant's exemplary record for milk vending over a period of 33 years lie would have imposed a heavy penalty. The health of the public had to be protected.
