MASONIC GATHERING

HARBOUR EXCURSION

CONCERT AND DANCE

Between 800 and 900 people travelled on the harbour excursion yesterday afternoon arranged in connection with the entertainment of the delegates to the annual communication of tho Masonic Grand Lodge of New Zealand. The GovernorGeneral, Lord Bledisloe, was present. The steamer Duchess carried the party and it made an interesting cruise of the harbour. Afternoon tea was served and an orchestra provided music. A concert and dance held in the Town Hall in the evening was well attended by delegates, their wives and friends. Between dances, a variety of entertainment was provided by prominent local artists. Songs were given by Miss Beryl Smith and Mr. Len. Barnes, duets by Misses Ida and Laura Walker, humorous items by Mr. S. M. Knight and Mr. Rex Yates; violin solos by Mr. Vincent Aspey; songs by Campbell's Savoy Male Quartette, and dances in costume by six pupils of Miss Cecil Hall. Mr. Trevor Sparling played the accompaniments.
