STRICTER CENSORSHIP

METHODIST SYNOD'S DEMAND

[BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] ASHBURTON, Thursday

A demand that the censorship of talking films be tightened to eliminate the worst type of poster as well as films, was made by tho Canterbury Methodist Synod in a resolution to-day.

It was also resolved that the Methodist Conference be urged to press for an increase in excise duties and in the cost of large public-house licences.
