[by telegraph—OWN correspondent] DUNEDIN, Sunday
Since they struck gold at Cromwell Flat, Messrs. Percy Bell and William Kilgour have had many visitors and progress consequently has been slow. The men have not had an opportunity of getting out any quantity of sand, but loz. to a dish has not been uncommon. The return on Thursday for a broken day, one of the partners being absent all the morning, was 9oz. 18dwt., making a total for three days of the* week of The miners have decided that, in future, visitors will not lie admitted.
" This continual entertaining of visitors is delaying our work," said Mr. Bell yesterday. " Our output, is not what it couid be, and we are handling less than half tlie sand we should lie."
