KAURILANDS ESTATE ROAD

Sir,—l would like to correct an obvious misrepresentation made by "A Ratepayer" in a recent issue of your paper. As a resident, of Titirangi and a user of the Kaurilantls Road on occasions, I am compelled to remark that far from being the worst road in the proximity of the city, it compares very favourably with the best, taking into consideration the distance Kaurilands is from the city, and its comparative isolation. I fail to see what Mr. Bishop and the proposal of a scenic drive has to do with this "nightmare" of a road. The large majority of the ratepayers in the. Titirangi riding, far from being in the dark re the cost and maintenance of this drive, are very much awake and hail with enthusiasm the advantageous terms under which it is proposed construction will proceed, due to the untiring efforts of oijr competent and popular member. I trust that any sceptics, who may be labouring under delusions. will wake up and makg. an effort to improve their knowledge of their own affairs. Wide Awake.
