MEANS TEST BILL
PASSED BY COMMONS
LEGISLATION TENTATIVE
(Received November 16. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. Nov. 15 In the House of Commons to-day the Means Test Bill was read a third time by 252 votes to 41. The Minister of Health, Sir Edward Hilton, in closing the debate, emphasised that the legislation was of a tentative character. The Government, he said, would watch carefully the effect of the burden cast upon the local authorities.
