ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEETING NEW RECORDS CREATED P. RENNIE SENIOR CHAMPION Three records were broken at the annual athletic sports gathering of the Sacred Heart C ollcgo in the college grounds on Saturday afternoon. Two of these records were niado by N. McCarthy, who lowered tho time for one mile, established last year by E. Hall, from 5m 2s to 4m 575, and also tho time for Hie half-mile walk, established in 1027 by G. Gow, from Om 45g to 3m :50s. In accounting Tor tho other record. E. Wordsworth, aged 15 years, won tho (juarter-niilo intermediate handicap from scratch in 555, tluis reducing tho school record put up in 1929 by L. Myles by twofifths of a second. Intermediate and junior records have not boon recognised at tho colloge. Tho host senior all rounder proved to he P. Ronnie, and ho won tho senior cup with a score of 39 points, .T. ITogan being runner-up with 3G. and N. McCarthy third with 32. E. Wordsworth, 30-5 points, easily won tho intermediate trophy from J. Shnnahun, 20, and J. Albertson, 14}. Thejo wero only two competitors for tho junior cup, W. Watt scoring 42 points to 33 by L. Power. Tho Court Cup, awarded each year to tho house obtaining tho most points in the snorting activities of tho college, was won by Lcnihau House with a score of 903 points. Basil House, 739 points, was second, and Cooluhrin llouho, 702, third.

After tho events had been decided, the Rev. Brother Egbert, director of the college, thanked those present for attending nnd assisting tho boys to inako the meetinc the success it was. lie then presented the senior and junior cups to their winners, and also tho Hurdles Cup to J. O'Recan. and tho Sprints Cup to T. Kawo. Tho Smith Cup, presented recently for tho intermediate championship by Mr. Eraser Smith in memory of his two sons, was handed to E.
